COME TO JESUS

LYRICS

Verse 1:
Come to Jesus, all who labor
And from all your strivings cease
Heavy laden, He will give you
He will give you rest and peace

Chorus:
Come to Him, His yoke is easy
And His burden, it is light
All your weakness He will strengthen with His might

Verse 2:
Come to Jesus, in your sorrow
In your searching for relief
He has precious, healing comfort
Healing comfort for each grief

Verse 3:
Come to Jesus, all who wander
All you anxious and depressed
There is stillness in His presence
In His presence, there is rest

  • Come to Jesus was initially written as a hymn with five stanzas. Although beautifully poetic, its language felt a bit inaccessible in our current time. The heart behind the song, however, is universal. It often feels too trite to say, “Just give it to Jesus”! But we read in Matthew 11:28-30 that Jesus really can handle it - he’s actually asking for it!
